Kolkata: The Yellow Turtle has introduced an exciting new Pan-Asian gourmet menu that celebrates the vibrant flavours of Asia while blending them with contemporary culinary techniques and artistic presentation. Inspired by the adventurous journey of the restaurant’s mascot, “Turtle,” the newly curated menu takes diners on a flavourful voyage across Asia, bringing together the essence of iconic street food cultures with refined café-style dining.
Drawing inspiration from the bustling food streets of Bangkok, the dim sum houses of Guangzhou, the robata grills of Tokyo, the wok-fired kitchens of Jakarta, and the bao stalls of Taiwan, the restaurant has reimagined classic Asian favourites with its own signature twist. The result is a menu that balances authenticity, innovation, and creativity, offering guests a memorable dining experience.
At the heart of the new menu is Charcoal Cheese Dimsum in Thai Green Curry (₹375), one of The Yellow Turtle’s signature creations. The dish combines charcoal-infused Cantonese-style dim sums filled with molten cheese and exotic vegetables, served in a rich Thai green curry prepared with basil, kaffir lime, lemongrass, and coconut milk. The fusion delivers a harmonious blend of smoky, creamy, spicy, and aromatic flavours.
Another highlight is the Kushiyaki Grills Selection (starting at ₹375), available in mushroom, tofu, chicken, and pork variants. Inspired by Tokyo’s famous robata grills and yakitori culture, the skewers are flame-grilled over charcoal and glazed with house-made teriyaki or spicy hoisin-miso sauce before being served with jasmine rice, fresh salad, and live charcoal for an immersive presentation.
For café lovers, The Turtle’s Spinach Mushroom Pizzette (starting at ₹385) offers a delightful fusion of rustic Italian pizzette and contemporary café dining. Topped with mozzarella, mushrooms, spinach, roasted peppers, broccoli, and zucchini, the dish is also available in a barbecue chicken variation for non-vegetarian diners.
A guest favourite, Nasi Goreng (₹355), returns with The Yellow Turtle’s signature interpretation. Inspired by Jakarta’s vibrant street food culture, the Indonesian-style fried rice is wok-tossed over high flames to achieve authentic wok hei and served alongside glazed chicken yakitori and prawn crackers.
The Selection of Street Style Baos (starting at ₹295) pays tribute to the lively street stalls of Taiwan and China. Filled with options such as tempura vegetables, fried tofu, mushrooms, slow-cooked chicken, shrimp, and pork, the soft baos are enhanced with Asian spices, soy reduction, and chilli-based sauces before being served in custom-designed paper boxes.
Seafood enthusiasts can enjoy the Sesame Prawn Dumpling (₹455), inspired by the refined dim sum traditions of Guangzhou. Filled with delicately seasoned fresh river prawns, the hand-folded dumplings are finished with toasted sesame and served over black Szechwan sauce with customised peanut sauce.
The menu also features Fried Tofu Cake (₹415), inspired by Thailand’s herb-rich street food culture. Prepared with silken tofu, kaffir lime, aromatic herbs, and signature takrai sauce, the dish offers refreshing citrus notes balanced with savoury flavours.
Among the premium offerings is Halong Bay’s Slow Simmered Bhetki (₹645), inspired by Bengal’s rich river fish heritage and elevated through refined Asian slow-cooking techniques. Gently simmered with subtle aromatics and smoky infusions, the dish highlights the natural sweetness and buttery texture of premium bhetki.
Complementing the food menu is an equally impressive range of handcrafted beverages inspired by Asian café culture.
The Jelly Coffee (₹239), influenced by Japanese café traditions, combines homemade coffee jelly with fresh coffee, sugar, and condensed milk for a rich yet refreshing treat.
For tropical refreshment, Bandung (₹219) blends creamy coconut with dragon fruit and passion fruit flavours, offering a vibrant Southeast Asian-inspired cooler.
Tea lovers can explore a new collection of Special Iced Teas, including the floral Thai Jasmine Leaf Iced Tea (₹239), Mixed Fruit Darjeeling Leaf Iced Tea (₹259), Sweet Lime Oolong Leaf Iced Tea (₹239), Pineapple Oolong Leaf Iced Tea (₹239), and Apple Oolong Leaf Iced Tea (₹239), each crafted using freshly brewed premium leaf tea with carefully balanced fruit and floral infusions.
With this thoughtfully curated Pan-Asian menu, The Yellow Turtle continues to redefine contemporary café dining by combining authentic Asian inspirations, innovative cooking techniques, and immersive presentation. The new menu is now available at both The Yellow Turtle outlets in Golpark and Baguiati, inviting diners to experience a unique culinary journey across Asia.
